David Léclapart L'Amateur 2022

L'Amateur is the starting point for David Léclapart: 100% Chardonnay from several biodynamic plots in Trépail Premier Cru, here on a 2022 base. Hand-harvested, the juice undergoes spontaneous fermentation before aging for about 11 months in 33 hl enamelled steel vats.

Malolactic fermentation occurs naturally, the wine is neither fined nor filtered, and sulfur use is kept to a minimum. After approximately 24 months on lees, disgorgement is performed by hand and no dosage is added. A stripped-down reading of Trépail: Chardonnay, chalk, tension.
