Éric Rodez Blanc de Blancs No. 39, Grand Cru

Éric Rodez's Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru is a different take on Ambonnay: 100% Chardonnay in a village where Pinot Noir usually takes center stage. The cuvée generally blends 15 to 20 base wines from 5 to 6 harvests, building complexity through blending rather than a single vintage.

Between 85 and 95% of the wines are vinified in small Burgundy barrels, while only a portion undergoes malolactic fermentation in order to maintain tension and freshness. Dosage is around 2 g/l, in Extra Brut. Generous, vinous, and precise — Chardonnay with the Rodez architecture.
