Georges Laval Les Hautes Chèvres, Premier Cru 2021

Les Hautes Chèvres 2021 comes from the single vineyard site located above Cumières, on the upper mid-slope, with clay-limestone soil. In this particularly difficult vintage, all three grape varieties are present, and the yield was only about 2,000 kg/ha.

Only 1,776 bottles were disgorged in March 2025 as Brut Nature. The low harvest results in dense, concentrated substance, yet 2021 retains a fresher, airier energy than the preceding sunny years. A rare site-specific wine, shaped as much by the terroir as by the constraints of the vintage.
