Krug Grande Cuvée 171st Edition

Krug Grande Cuvée 171st Édition is built around the 2015 harvest. It brings together 131 wines from 12 different years, the oldest dating back to 2000 and the youngest to 2015. Reserve wines make up 42% of the final blend—the House's memory used not to repeat the past, but to transcend the limits of a single year.

The composition brings together 45% Pinot Noir, 37% Chardonnay, and 18% Meunier. Flowers, ripe and candied citrus fruits, marzipan, and gingerbread open on the nose; hazelnut, nougat, brioche, honey, and citrus jelly extend onto the palate. Krug does not seek here to tell the story of 2015: the House seeks, as it does every year, to recreate its most generous idea of Champagne.
