Leclerc-Briant La Croisette "Gold" 2016

La Croisette 2016 is a 100% Chardonnay from a 35-are plot in Épernay, first planted in 1958. But this edition pushes Leclerc-Briant’s experimentation even further: a portion of the wine was vinified and aged in a 225-liter barrel with an interior lined with gold.

Only 1,000 bottles were produced. The cuvée is dosed at 2 g/l as an Extra Brut. Behind the spectacular image, the substance remains very tangible: an old plot, a low yield, a terroir-driven Chardonnay, and an experiment with materials that few houses would have even imagined.
