Leclerc-Briant Cuvée Abyss Rosé 2019

Abyss Rosé 2019 is a blend of 92% Chardonnay and 8% Pinot Noir vinified as a red wine. Part of the Chardonnay is aged in barrels, then the cuvée is disgorged before heading to the Atlantic for eleven months of immersion off the coast of Brittany.

The dosage is 3.65 g/l, making it an Extra Brut. The 2019 vintage provides vinosity and maturity, while the marine aging imparts a more saline and creamy impression. A rather improbable encounter between a Chardonnay rosé, biodynamics, and the hydrosphere—and yet, in the glass, it remains above all else, Champagne.
