André Clouët Chalky

Chalky places Chardonnay and chalk at the heart of the experience. The blend is composed of approximately one-third grapes from the southern slope of the Montagne de Reims and two-thirds from the Côte des Blancs. Two expressions of Champenois chalk brought together in a cuvée that is more tense than the usually very Pinot Noir-leaning style of Clouët.

Aged for over 36 months on lees and dosed between 2.5 and 4 g/l, Chalky combines minerality, salinity, and a creamy texture. The name says almost everything: here, the soil is not the backdrop. It is the taste.
