Marie Courtin Prestance 2021

Prestance 2021 is a 100% Pinot Noir Blanc de Noirs from a biodynamically farmed plot in Polisot. For this rare cuvée, Dominique Moreau moves away from both the stainless steel of Résonance and the oak of Efflorescence: the wine is vinified and aged in terracotta amphorae.

After bottling, Prestance spends at least thirty-six months on lees before disgorgement. The dosage is zero or minimal, in accordance with its Extra Brut labeling. Quince, lemon, verbena, and a delicately creamy texture precede a tense, mineral, and saline finish. A very pure interpretation of Pinot Noir, with the amphora serving as a frame rather than a flavor profile.
