Dom Pérignon 2013

Dom Pérignon Vintage 2013 reconnects with an almost forgotten era of Champagne: that of late harvests. After a cold winter, a wet spring, and a delayed growth cycle, a hot, dry summer saved the season. The harvest stretched from September 28th to October 15th, with a remarkable balance between acidity and roundness.

The nose advances in touches: eucalyptus, mint, mirabelle plum, apricot, orange blossom, pepper, cardamom, licorice, iodine, and toasted notes. The palate is simpler in the best sense of the term: precise, ethereal, then increasingly full. The saline finish brings everything into alignment. A Dom Pérignon that is less hedonistic and more architectural.
