Pierre Gerbais

In Celles-sur-Ource, in the Côte des Bar, Aurélien Gerbais represents the eighth generation of the family estate. Trained in Burgundy in Saint-Aubin under Olivier Lamy, he returned in 2009 with a simple idea: to vinify each plot and each grape variety separately to reveal the personality of the terroir, found on Kimmeridgian marl and Portlandian limestone. The estate also cultivates the rare true Pinot Blanc, planted as early as 1904. With perpetual reserves started in 2011, hand-harvesting, and very low dosages, Grains de Celles, Champ Violé, La Loge, and Bochot compose a precise, taut, and textured signature.
